The debut performance of The National’s Terrible Love, the first song off their upcoming album High Violet.

May is going to be madness with new material from Ratatat, The National, Band of Horses, The New Pornographers, Broken Social Scene, LCD Soundsystem and probably a shit tonne of other’s too.

So apparently a website called Thinking For A Living relaunched. Crazy!

Various photographs taken by Jeff Bridges on a 35mm Widelux swing-lens panoramic camera. The wide frames are created by a pivoting lens; as it pans it exposes the film through a slit instead of a traditional shutter.

Bridges explains:

The first time I came across one was in high school. We had been gathered together to take our class photo. The photographer had a Wide-Lux. He explained how it worked. Some kids figured if they ran very quickly, they could beat the panning lens and be in the picture twice. They were right. Years later, I started using this technique to take pictures of actors creating the theatrical masks of Tragedy and Comedy. The result was someone frowning and smiling at himself - all on one negative.

He’s also published a book Pictures which showcases his photos taken on various movie sets since the 1980s. If his website is anything to go by, the included handwritten captions and commentary should be good. Very good. (via Original Linkage).

The Rest — Modern Time Travel (Necessities)

I’m seriously liking The Rest at the moment. They’ve got a 4 track EP The Cried Wolf available for free which includes an awesome cover of Robyn’s With Every Heartbeat.

Nuit Blanche explores a fleeting moment between two strangers, revealing their brief connection in a hyper real fantasy.
Directed by Arev Manoukian with visual effects by Marc-André Gray. There’s a Making Of video available that shows how the shots were composed. Totally wowsome. (via Benjamin Fritz)

The opening sequence was a metaphor. The show just flew over the shark at 20,000 feet.
