The opening sequence was a metaphor. The show just flew over the shark at 20,000 feet.

LOST season premier invites designed by Ty Mattson. Not long to go now!

Early 1990s TV pilot Lookwell written and produced by Conan O’Brien and Robert Smigel. It starred Adam West as actor Ty Lookwell, a former TV detective who falsely believes he can help the police solve crimes in real life.

Marty McKee:

But Lookwell’s brilliance really comes down to Adam West and the O’Brien/Smigel script, which contains some subtle wit. For instance, Lookwell, trying to establish his undercover identity as an auto painter, explains to his boss that “my father painted cars, his father painted cars, and his father before that.” The gag that automobiles surely didn’t exist during Lookwell’s great-grandfather’s lifetime is hilarious, but takes a couple of seconds to seep in.

Sadly Lookwell was never picked up by a network, all probably pursuing other great opportunities like (so bad it’s good) Poochinski.

Ladybird, a beautiful title sequence produced for a film school assignment by Christopher Harrell.

I brought a bunch of random objects into the woods to create the feeling of a place where objects are dumped. I then took 30,000 ladybugs and spent an hour or so film them crawling all over the objects.

Full background info on the project can be read on Chris’s site. (via Quipsologies)

I’m super late to the party watching Freaks and Geeks, only 4 episodes in and I’m hooked. Shame it got cancelled, Haverchuck is too awesome.

I’m a huge fan of this 2004 ident for TV One, created by Oktobor.

I’ve been looking for this sweet local ident for ages (helps if you Google the right words). It’s a shame that the silhouettes’ clipped feet are just as noticeable as I remembered. Also available in better quality from Oktobor’s site.

Stay out—of my territory.
Walter White (Bryan Cranston) delivering the final line from the episode Over of Breaking Bad. Watch the definition of badass. Total boss.
